MAPA wins AERO CUP 2011

Finally after the 3rd edition of the Aero Cup, the MAPA Golf team won the coveted cup with a convincing win. This time around we were better organised and worked together as a team to give Team Air Asia a run for their money. It was a shotgun tee off and the format was on total gross score of 24 players. The weather was nice throughout before the eventual thunderstorm, but everyone got in just in time. This year's edition saw a potpourri of players, with golfers coming from Indonesia, Thailand, Japan and also few french ladies too. It was a great event again this time around, with the main objective of fostering good ties with our partner airline Air Asia. The golf was fought hard but under friendly conditions. In winning, we must be gracious and thank our opponents for making this year's Aero Cup a momentous affair. The MAPA Golf committee would like to take this opportunity to also thank all our main sponsors for their continued support. Until next year, do enjoy the pics....

The Ladies were in town!!!!

I know the Aero Cup tournament is just in 2 days time and we are all charged up about it, but who can deny the fact that KL just hosted it's 2nd LPGA tournament at the prestigious KLGCC and this time around, Paula Creamer made the journey. Other players such as Michelle Wie and newcomer Paige Mackenzie were also there. Anyway Kudos to Choi for winning it with a gutsy 5 footer putt for par on the final hole...talk about pressure...ok enjoy the pics....

AERO CUP 2011: MAPA vs Air Asia Group

The 3rd edition of AERO CUP, a yearly competition between the Malaysia Airlines Pilots' Association Golf Team against Air Asia Group will be held at the Impian Golf and Country Club in Kajang on the 19th of October 2011. For all interested golfers that would like to represent the MAPA team kindly contact Capt. Ammirul Haidir to book your slot. It's 24 vs 24 team format for the challenge trophy currently held by Air Asia, however Capt Ammirul Haidir our president is still the holder of the best gross player trophy!!! It should be an interesting tournament, and we hope to see everyone there...
