Firstly, I would like to thank everyone that made it to Melaka that Monday, I know it was a long drive especially from KL (Seremban boys not bad lah). A few of the players even took time off and brought their families along to have a short break in Melaka, now isn't that nice...a win win situation. It was a test event playing way out of KL and we were glad that 16 players participated in our first get together game for 2010. I would like to personally thank the AirAsia players led by Dato' Fareh and Adrian Jenkins for making the effort to take part in our game. We look forward in having a cordial relationship on course and off course too. A special mention to the truly global pilot family of Nazmi the dad (Etihad) and sons Jazrin (AirAsia) and Aifiq (MAS) for making the effort to play in our event :-)
Anyway, back to the game report. The course was interesting thanks to the undulating fairways and 'keropok' greens. Some players even said that the hardpan like fairways gave discomfort to their arms and hands after every shot...wah...such pro players we have??? hehe. The greens were tricky yet true and everyone had to bring out their best to post a good score. Securing regulation on the green can even spell double bogey as 3 or 4 putts were possible (or was it only me?) Anyway, after a yo-yo of a day (Again perhaps just me?), we retired for lunch at the Grand Chinese Restaurant albeit some confusion where half of us ended up in a different location elsewhere in the club, namely the golf terrace (Takde GPS?).
Nonetheless everyone had a good lunch and honoured our winners for the day. Syed Razif from AirAsia secured the best nett and to no surprise our very own president of MAPA Golf, Ammirul Haidir won the best gross with a gross score of 83...woohoo!!! One of the main reasons we are playing on far far far far away golf courses is that we wanted to level the playing field, since someone usually comes out tops due to local knowledge. I guess having said that Ammirul truly deserved the best golfer award for that day. Kudos to the rest that won, well played gents and to the others we hope to see everyone back again for our next golf get together game planned for Templer Park CC. Enjoy the pics....
